02.06.2007, SEHNAL & SCHUSTER (1999) recorded at neighbouring island Cres that viviparous fish Gambusia affinis do not share a same occurence with H. arborea which is introduced considerable predator for tadpoles of H. arbores (RATHBAUER 2002). My observation (
http://en.balcanica.info/11-182) from Krk Island impeach declaration of first mentionet authors.

21.06.2007, There is an interesting and great variability in colouration (subspecies
natrix,
helvetica,
persa) on Krk island. Additionaly they are succesfuly hybridising so we can find there lot of intermedeiate forms and aberations including melanistic individuals. By this fact the subspecies level is strongly in doubt.
